In April 2014, the city of Medellin hosted one of the world’s most important international urban and regional development-related events. Over 25,000 people participated in this event, organized by UN-Habitat and the Mayor’s Office of Medellin, many of them international.
“Meeting in the valley” is the project’s concept, part of a formal abstraction of the Aburra valley geography, with strips bent into different angles and folds. These white folds are the foundation and support different projections and 3D mappings made during the different spaces and sessions. In this way, this geography, support and structure for the city of Medellin also served within this scenario as a space for projecting academic, institutional and meeting-related content.
